Finished the series so far (the rest of my ratings will be in Sunday’s weekly round up as usual).

I had always planned to read this series once she was finished writing it, but the end doesn’t seem to be on the horizon any time soon. I am glad I had this much to glom as I wouldn’t have wanted to wait to get some of the supporting characters’ stories.
I quite enjoyed the series overall. Am anxiously awaiting the next book! I understand why some people were frustrated, but personally I don’t think
Archangel’s Prophecy actually ended on a cliffhanger.
Spoiler:
Re: Archangel’s Prophecy I’m not saying this because of author trust, which once broken I don’t think can be earned back (for me anyway because I would stop reading the author!) Obviously it’s up to each individual reader if they want to continue with a series. Maybe it’s because I was prepared for something truly cliffhanger-y, but though the ending was abrupt I don’t think it qualifies. I didn’t feel Elena or Raphael were in danger at the end. We’re shown they both survive. I won’t go into details since I know some are still waiting to read it. Just my 2¢.

As for the series as a whole…I thought it was very violent which I’d expected, but often found it too gory—particularly the first few books. I had issues with the way Naasir, Venom, and Dimitri treated women as disposable until they discovered their one true luv. This issue was somewhat addressed, but it still bothered me.
After years of hearing people rave about Bluebell, I was…underwhelmed. I’m more interested in Aodhan’s backstory than Illium’s but still rather ho-hum overall on his character as well. Of course, that could change when/if we get their stories (or story as I can see why some readers feel they could be a pair).
I had issues with Raphael at the start, but grew to like him (though he can still be such a jerk at times!) I didn’t care for Dimitri in the first few books so when I got to his book I was leery. But I loved Honor and their romance (both past and present). Still not a fan of vampires in general though (really it’s the drinking blood part I find very off-putting). But some of my favorite characters in the series are vampires, so obviously my feeling are contradictory.
Though I had read Archangel’s Enigma back in 2015, I didn’t remember very much of it so it didn’t affect my reading of the early books. I ended up rereading it as well as most of the newsletter shorts I’d already read in the order everything was originally published.
Most of my favorites have had books already, so the characters I’d most like to see get their own stories are Demarco, Isabel, and Suyin. I also really, really want to know more about the Hummingbird. And I’d like for Eve to get a story once she is old enough, but unless there’s a bigger than usual time jump not sure that will be in the cards.
My favorite characters (in no particular order) are Sara, Deacon, Honor, Holly, Jessamy, Galen, Mahiya, Jason, Ashwini, Hannah, Caliane, and Montgomery. Noel, Ransom, Rhys, and Sivya get honorable mentions.
I like Elena & Raphael as well. But they have so many books in the series and so much extra page time compared to everyone else it seems unfair to compare.
As for the books, for the Elena & Raphael titles my favorites are
Archangel’s Consort and
Archangel’s Heart
Novellas:
Angels’ Judgment and
Angels’ Dance
Other main characters’ books:
Archangel’s Storm is by far my favorite. Honorable mention to
Archangel’s Blade.
