My Aura One works quite well. The best thing of course is the large screen. Forma has a slightly larger one but I don't know if the difference of screen size and the buttons justify the price difference.
The illumination is good enough, I had some wi fii issue but last firmware solved it. The touch is not very precise, it is a bit fastidious but it is not really a great trouble. I am satisfied with Aura One and, at the end, the answer to the question "Is it worth to buy a new Kobo Aura One in 2019?" in my opinion is Yes.

Edit: Now I see that Kobo (in Italy, elsewhere I don't know) will not sell anymore Aura One in its site. But my opinion rest the same, it is a good reader.
