Nothing there is large enough to slow down Sigil, so something is definitely funny.

After reinstalling Sigil from the correct release installer as described above, if you are still seeing the problem, we can try temporarily renaming the sigil.ini preferences to make sure nothing in the preferences is messing Sigil up and restarting Sigil to see if that has any impact.
