Forma screen too sensitive or fails!?

I prefer to use the Kobo Forma in Portrait mode all the time.
To hold the device in Portrait, I often use both hands, with one holding or resting along the bottom edge.
However, with default settings the screen is so sensitive near the bottom that unwanted page turns keep happening when fingers inadvertently touch the edge of the screen -- even right at the bottom edge!

In an attempt to avoid this, under Settings, I set page turning via the screen to occur only with a swipe, not tapping. This reduced the problem, but it was still there.
Even so it would be nice to be able to de-sensitive the screen close to the edge, although, I guess that is not possible !?

Then, another problem arose: every couple of days, a swipe to change the page fails. And repeated swipes anywhere on the screen also fail.
Fortunately, pressing a page-turn button then fixes the problem, for a while.

Any comments or suggestions?
Thanks
