I guess within the realm of digital readers, PDFs may go bye-bye, but I don't think it'll leave for the larger electronic world. PDFs is a page description format and is invaluable in reproducing exactly the way a document was intended to look on the screen and on paper. This kind of stability is needed in many real world applications.
