We might just agree to disagree. When my tablet is out of battery the kindle with koreader does quite well at displaying images from my guitar fretboard for dummies epub.
Dictionary lookup could be a bit faster, but with wallabag, custom fonts, news downloader, ability to download entire wikipedia articles for offline viewing, one-tap night mode, ridiculously detailed status bar, exporting notes to evernote built in, reading statistics so i know if i hit my 1 hour reading goal each day, dropbox integration, I don't know how I could ever go back to the 'stock' experience.
There are perhaps *too many* options but it's kind of like the guitar. You can enjoy it without going too deep, but there are benefits to exploring it in depth
