The positive side is that those 25,000 jobs and infrastructure build-up won't be going away. They will just exist elsewhere, not in New York.

This is per New Yorks choice, per their duly elected representatives. I'm fine with that. They can run their city/state any way they want to. I am not happy for New York, nor am I sad for them. Doesn't really affect me at all. The only way it might affect me is if I were considering moving to New York. I would never do that (for other reasons), but if I were considering it, I would take this recent news into consideration.

There will be some spill-over from this into the national political discussion. Will it end up being good for liberals? Or good for conservatives? So I guess it will affect me indirectly, since I am governed by national politics. I have my predictions about which political party will benefit from this development and which party will lose out because of it, but I will remain silent regarding my opinions here (as we are supposed to). But wow - do we live in interesting times or what?!
