AOC is NOT the representative for the district in which Amazon intended to build its HQ. Carolyn Maloney is. Maloney supported Amazon; AOC did not.

Polls show that the people in NYC overwhelmingly supported Amazon (58 percent to 35 percent); a handful of politicians with big mouths did not. Notably, the support was strongest among blacks and Hispanics in the city (70 percent and 81 percent respectively).

The difference between tax incentives for a corporation that was going to provide 25,000 high-paying jobs and for a sports arena that's presumably going to provide a trickle-down economic boost should be obvious.

Amazon should have at least tried to negotiate a bit more instead of just walking away.
