Fairly certain. The home button and screen doesn't seem to do anything (I have the screensaver delay disabled but I've tried 1 second and tap to turn off without luck).

I'd slide the power and wait 15 seconds and then try again without luck. Nowadays I just hold the power button if the device doesn't turn back on in 5 seconds and restart. Power LED just remains off.
