Many years ago, I started picking up DTB titles in Simon Scarrow's "Eagle" series while on business trips to the UK. This series originally had some mystery elements to it, although set in a military history setting. And when I first started picking them up they were typically in the "Crime" section of UK bookstores - or else I wouldn't have found them at all !

As the series progressed, though, the mystery elements became fewer and the military history elements became more prominent, and the books started appearing on military fiction or general fiction shelves. Still, I continued to enjoy them, now in e-book and not DTB, and so does my son, who pretty much only reads military history/military fiction. So it has been fun over the years to read them together with him.

All of which is a long-winded explanation of why I'm posting this in the general fiction thread and not the mystery thread, and of why I'm posting a title on sale for more than I usually post ($5.99, down from $8.99) - because I really like the series, and Scarrow's titles rarely go on sale in the US.
