Even Kindle Fire's aren't unbreakable as I found out this weekend. My older Kindle Fire was damaged when I slipped on some ice on Saturday last. It still turns on and the screen is still (mostly) readable but the substrate has cracks running through it now, even though the Gorilla glass on top didn't suffer any damage.
