Paul Seippel (*24-4-1858, †13-3-1926), Suisse, journaliste et professeur de langue et littérature françaises à Zurich, était ami de Romain Rolland et médiateur entre les cultures allemande et française en Suisse, avant et pendant la Première Guerre.

Son livre sur Romain Rolland, publié en 1913, se situe dans ce contexte. Il informe sur l’auteur, son œuvre, surtout sur le roman «Jean-Christophe» dont les dernières parties venaient de paraître en 1912.
