I'm trying to JB a Kindle 4 PW using the serial port and I'm stuck, if it's posssible to downgrade from an OTA upgrade can you please explain how ? None of the current serial Jailbreak explanations work as the KPW4 boot process does not offer access to a shell of any kind and just runs into a fastboot mode which appears to have limited functionality.

Could you please explain how is it possible to use fastboot to downgrade to a prior version ?

as an alternative method I have used kindletool to extract a rootfs for the firmware version currently installed would it work to add the developer key to the rootfs.img and then flash it using fastboot (does it need to be signed for fastboot to install it)?

Thanks
