I know "jeep carrier" better by the name of "escort carrier." They were smaller--much smaller, I think--than the carriers ("fleet" carriers) that we usually hear or read about.

I didn't realize that jeep/escort carriers did sub hunting, or that they carried airplanes that were well suited to that task. I think that most of those carriers were in the Pacific Theater; if I am correct about that, any sub hunting that they would have been doing, of course, would have been of Japanese subs.

You certainly have reasons to be proud of your relatives' service, IMHO. I agree with Tom Brokaw's assessment of them being a part of the "Greatest Generation."
