FWIW mine is a WiFi only Kindle Touch with firmware 5.3.7.3 (27152800002)

I did see a reddit post where someone was having the Network Error issue over WiFi with a Kindle 4 and it was solved for them by connecting the Kindle to a PC via USB and using Audible Manager to activate the device that way. Might be worth a shot anyway. Shrug

Poking around on Audible's site yields... Which of course you already found out.

Thanks you so much, AnemicOak! It worked! I had to resurrect an old Windows netbook to run AudibleManager. I was holding my breath when I pressed Play on my Touch, but it played! For others on MacOS, I tried running AudibleManager in Crossover for Mac (a Windows emulator). It didn't work for me. I had seen and also been told by Audible customer service that the Touch is now unsupported. Thank you again!
