Kobo imposes a software limitation that is not based on the hardware capacity of the device. We all know that the kobo mini perfectly supports the latest official firmware that allows to buy in the Kobo store, synchronize with Pocket, etc.
I will change my television because it does not support the 4k resolution, but there is no technical improvement that motivates me to buy new ebook readers.
Kobo has to make money? Of course. Let me buy books in your store with my kobo mini or maybe I will buy a device from another company.
