I prefer to start at the first text in the story for fiction. I'd rather skip the cover, copyright notices, blurbs, also by, etc. and start at the prologue, epigraph or first chapter.

That being said, I really don't care where the book opens to since it is pretty trivial to skip to the place I want to start reading.
