This is a newbie question - but I did a search on the forum and couldn't find an answer (probably just using the wrong search terms).

I have been using Calibre to convert HTML files for use on my Sony reader. For the most part it works fine - except I have been having an issue with a lot of characters "failing" to convert, and so I get the upside down '?' character to represent those.

Most of these have been the "turning" quote marks (as opposed to the straight apostrophe or double-quote marks).

Is there an option somewhere, or something I can set up a conversion of these characters in the HTML to standard quotation marks when I convert the e-book?
