Yeah, in the end its all about your eyes. Not comparing them anymore, but just to sit down, or lay down and read. If your eyes do fine and you don't notice anything but the book, you are good. I can't even say which picture my Oasis is closer too. Its so hard for me to compare with computer screens being different. I guess I am somewhere in between.

Its not super white, but not yellow either. I have no clue really. I had a replacement Oasis when I first got it and the screens were a tad different in tone. One was more "yellow" or tan than the other. But not very noticeable.
I never turn my light above 8, but I am light sensitive and can't stare into a bright lit screen when its darker. During bright day, I don't see a difference between 8 and say 20 so no point for me to turn it up that high.
I have had this rule since the first lit Kindle. If I notice a "glow", I have it turned up to high. But those are my eyes. Others need the full light for their situation or they can't get any kind of visual of the letters. We are all dealt different eyes.
