The device charges off 5v period, if you use say a Samsung charger for newer usb-c phones it will charge at 2.4a if it pulls that but my mars only pulls 870ma off that as that's all it wants the mimas might pull slighty more but probably same as it basicaly has the same hardware. If you used your pc port at usb 3.0 it could pull about 980ma peak but will sit at the 870ma. Usb 2.0 will be about 340ma. Less heat while charging means longer lasting batteries. This is why I keep my lithium batteries between 50-80% unless I'll be gone for a long time. With today's batteries that can get you through the day. The Mars I have not done this yet as I'm still testing full life. Use ampre to see what it pulls off a higher amp charger and yull know. It might pull more with the screen off.
