i suppose just some advil wouldn't be strong enough to make a difference ? i'm pretty sure ibuprofen doesn't make you drowsy. and it's quite effective for pain for me. but i've never been in a comparable situation (well. once i did have a cracked rib. but i think i just suffered stoically until it healed).
