I'm finally, finally getting around to setting up my WeMo smart plug. At this point, I expect to mainly use it in a room without a Dot--I want to control it with my Fire tablet and/or Android phone.

I found instructions here (seems like an awful lot of steps!). Does it matter which device I use for the setup?
