If the translated strings DO exist, I can assure you that it's for somewhere else in the code (or in Qt itself) and not the Insert Special Character dialog. None of the strings in SelectCharacter.cpp are marked to be translated.

I'll be honest: the tooltips for these special characters are fairly meaningless to me--even in my native language. The display of the character ç itself will always assist me more than a description like "small c with cedilia" will. *shrug*

We don't do any alphabetical sorting of the symbols to my knowledge (other than manually creating the string lists in a similar order to the way an OS-level Character Map program, or an online reference chart, would display them).
