This particular method is not necessarily about ease of use it's more about surquizu having documented a Kobo "hidden feature" which allows installation of any number of custom dictionaries by anyone who wants to do so.
You're entitled to ask geek1011 for new patches and geek1011 is entitled to provide them if he can and if he wants to. All I was trying to do is to point out what can already be done.
Referring back to my earlier screenshot, 3rd dictionary in the list - I was able to change the list label from 'English - English' to 'English - English OED_Ed3' by manually editing the Name field in the Dictionary table, as detailed in surquizu's step 5.
As always, the best way to find out what can be done is to try it
