I use different cases to help identify devices. I usually carry one registered and one unregistered Kindle in my purse.

The sideloaded fanfic are identical. I use Calibre to create a "master" copy of my TBR pile on my SSD which then gets synced to the Kindles' documents folder. I just manually remember last read position.

Rest are jail broken, powered down and sitting inside the drawer as backup in case Amazon manages to completely block jail breaking in future.
