I like London Falling a lot and can remember specifics of why, a few years on. There's a really effective, disturbing bit of deductive police work by one of the main characters late in the book. I'd maybe put it somewhere near Ben Aaronovitch's Peter Grant/Rivers of London in feel, although it doesn't have the same cheeky tone, and this isn't a single-viewpoint series like Rivers of London.

Unfortunately, or I suppose fortunately if you hate never-ending series, my understanding is that this didn't sell as well as some of Cornell's other work, and so three books is it.
