Inspired by the General Strike of 1926, this novel follows the adventures of young Miss Brown, typiste, who inadvertantly gets caught up in a struggle between a subversive group led by Russians who are trying to explode a similar confrontation into a violent revolution, and a tiny Scotland Yard unit attempting to frustrate the Russians.
