We all set our own parameters, but I give a pass to anyone who buys a book for immediate consumption. I don't myself as there's no book that I feel I absolutely must read as soon as it comes out, but I know it's hugely important for some and reading is for love after all. For me, it's a worse problem that I do fall for sales on wishlist books and then they languish. Sometimes for years.

A book that's bought and read immediately never hits the TBR!
