The only way I've found to display an epub with double pages is to reduce the font size until RMSDK (Adobe's renderer used by Kobo for epubs) decides to split the screen. On a KA1 or Forma in landscape, you can get to the point where the page is split into 3 columns for the 2 or 3 smallest font sizes.
