Rose Daughter was her first retelling of Beauty and the Beast,
Beauty was the second.
I haven't read either of these, but they've been on my radar forever. (McKinley also retold Sleeping Beauty as
Spindle's End.)

Beast by Donna Jo Napoli, and
Of Beast and Beauty, by Stacey Jay. Also unread/unlistened to by me.
