You are correct, my wording was inexact.

On both mac and linux, I unmounted (not ejected) the sd card from the operating system after plugging in the device before starting ADE. Also, a small number of books always sneak into the main memory, and I was annoyed every time that ADE indexed those and remembered them (even after I deleted them from the device).

ADE doesn't notice books it doesn't manage on the device any more.
I don't know if there's a way to tell it to look if you did want it to.

I think I ran ADE in windows once. I probably didn't plug in my device.
