Eh - you should be able to see them in the book list, but maybe you are looking at the grid view - to switch to list view click the Layout button in the status bar at the bottom of main window and toggle the grid/list view.
And you can see them in the Book Details panel, you can toggle that to display via the Layout options. You can also get a floating version for the current book if you press the 'I' key
The Preferences->Look and feel tabs have lots of settings to customise the user interface.
