Well, I finally finished this book after multiple renewals of my library loan. I stalled about half-way through and then had to come back to it.

I don't know why, but I just didn't connect with it. I have enjoyed Daphne du Maurier's other books. Rebecca is one of the few novels that I enjoy re-reading periodically. I love Gothic tales, and it had all the elements I like such as old houses, historical plot, English landscape. I just didn't much like the characters in the modern timeline. The historical characters were better, although there wasn't much to the plot to keep it interesting other than romance.
