This only makes sense if you actually *always* read without any footer NOR header (àla old fullScreenReading).
If you use the 'Reduce top/bottom page spacer' patch but you still keep ONE of the footer OR header shown, you'll *probably* don't want to tweak the 'adjustable top/bottom margin patch', unless you get how it's going to affect the effect of your margin slider.
The comments around the configurable values in the 'adjustable top/bottom margin patch' should help you understand how those two patches can interact with each other

EDIT: And as mentioned in the full message I quoted, top/bottom margins are now *fixed* in the kePub reader, so all this interaction talk is fairly moot if you never even read plain ePubs
