Well, we have had a century and a quarter where people could get music freely, when they liked. Before that, you had to have a musician or orchestra around, and music was probably far less frequent. Folk songs, yeah, but a small quantity.

Now we can have music at will, and a ton of it has been created! I find it awesome to contemplate that difference from the past.

At the same time, it has allowed a century of people who never *have* to listen to their own thoughts for longer than they like. We may be generating fewer deep thinkers or philosophers.
