I have my glo for nearly 6 years, reset it several times, the settings always worked for me and still works (needed to be put back when factory reset).
With affiliate=fnac => fnac screensaver
Actually, lastest firmware, the setting is affiliate=bestbuyca => book cover as screensaver.
Do you "switch off" the kobo and starting it over after the change ?
