One of us doesn't understand something. The full screen mode that was available in 4.10.x and before was the same for both epubs and kepubs. But, there were some bugs that hit some kepubs and meant that the end of the line could be cut off. The top and bottom margins were identical for both epubs and kepubs.

The full screen mode (hide header and footer) in 4.12.12111 is the same for both epubs and kepubs. And, on all my devices, the top and bottom margins are the same for both formats. Or near enough that I can't see the difference.

Are you seeing something different to that? Can you see a difference in top margin for the two formats?

And for the record, calling the margins "huge" is a bit absurd. Especially when that word has been used for so long to describe the footer and header space. And the new margins look to be about a third of the size of the header and footer. They are a bit bigger than I would like, but by no means "huge".
