No problem!

I’m still not quite sure which modification steps you followed or which settings you changed... In any case, any regular settings in the GUI will stay the same with a firmware update. So will any changes in the .kobo/Kobo/Kobo eReader.conf file. Any firmware patches and add-ons will be removed when you update.

Don’t worry, a normal update really won’t harm your Clara. If really necessary a factory reset can be done from within the settings menu, or if that’s not possible you can factory reset manually by holding the power button for 30 while the Clara is off and plugged into a power source.
