I often don't recall whether I listened to a book or read it visually. I re-read a lot of books so in a lot of cases I've done both.
A movie isn't the same. Not only are the words different, the story is often different. It's not the same thing. The average movie made from a book is an abridgement of that book at best. At worse it's not even the same thing.
