When speaking about ebooks, .PRC are MobiPocket ebooks (they can be Palm applications in other contexts).
Iliad and DR are normally able to open MobiPocket files, so I can't say what's wrong.

EDIT : did you try opening them with MobiPocket Reader on your PC or on another device ?
