It gives me a "read for free" option which I guess is strange.

On the main page there is a "get it now" link.

I haven't tried clicking on them in case it is a pirate site.

Have you tried emailing them?

It looks like the site hasn't added any books since Jan 2018. And you can no longer sign in to your account.
