The first time I had 'Unknown' on the device as well, but now it seems to display the right title.

If you're using latest calibre 3.35, enable checkboxes on tab 'Metadata, on-device & advanced' for both:
- Update metadata on the device
- Update metadata on Book Details pages.
The other thing to be aware of for users new to Kobo is that transferring metadata is usually a 2-part process.
First connect to calibre: use send-to-device to transfer new books. Then safely disconnect and the Kobo will add new book entries in the Kobo database. A few metadata fields (author, title, comments, ...) will be populated either via extract from the book's internal files or from a metadata plugboard if you're using one.
Second (and subsequent) connect to calibre: the calibre driver will auto-magically update metadata in the Kobo database using your latest calibre metadata (author, title, series, publication date, etc ...)
The moral of the story: always do a second calibre connect before concluding that metadata isn't being transferred correctly.

Thanks for the info,
jackie_w! I did configure the KoboTouch driver to update metadata when I installed the new release yesterday. I didn't know a second connect was necessary, but that is what I did anyway, since I always try things out several times when things are not working. It still shows up as 'Unknown' on Calibre, but now displays the right title on the device at least.

To let me see what is happening, in the driver configuration, put the name of the errant book in the "Title to test when debugging" field on the third tab. It doesn't need to be the full title, just something that will match the book without matching to many others (i.e. don't use "the"). Then run calibre in debug mode (right-click the preferences button and select "Restart in debug mode"), let the device connection jobs run and then close calibre. Calibre will display the log. Then post or PM the complete log to me.

Thanks
davidfor, I just ran Calibre in debug mode and will PM you the log right now. It is with Calibre 3.35 after I updated the KoboTouch plugin (to be fair, I had not used Calibre very much before 3.35 so I don't know if the problem came with 3.35 or not).
