Edgar Wallace was a prolific writer of short stories, often in the form of a series featuring the same characters and following a somewhat porous overall arc. Many of these series were collected and published many years ago: The Brigand (1927); Chick (1923); and so on.
Collections of non-series short stories were also published many years ago, but these were often assembled in a rather slapdash manner with a lot of overlapping and repetition of stories.
But there were many stories published in magazines and newspapers that were never collected; even whole series of short stories. In these 10 volumes I have endeavoured to collect together the Edgar Wallace short story output by combining the many overlapping collections, eliminating duplications, and adding many stories never gathered together between covers.
The stories in the volume are from Circumstantial Evidence and Other Stories (1; 3-9), Fighting Snub Reilly (2), and For Information Received and Other Stories (10-18), all 1929, eliminating many duplications.
