i've owned dozens over a dozen years or so and never had a lockup until today on my kindle oasis 2. nothing worked and i suspected that although i'd charged the battery yesterday, it had run down.
i plugged it into a high-current ups charger and tried holding the pwr button down for up to a minute--nothing. but then i let it sit for about 2-3 minutes and saw the exclamation mark on the screen--first time i've ever seen that.
i hope the battery isn't going out--it's never been that good to begin with. if you don't put it in airplane mode it will run out in under 3 days even with no reading.
