Always best to remove Special Offers before you jailbreak.

To be honest, the no-reset thing was mentioned as a precaution as the older, unsigned FB02 factory firmware packages might not work after a reset. The 5.7.4 and 5.8.9.0.1 factory firmwares don't work at all with OTA updated PW3 with 5.8.8 or higher so we needed to be extra careful with those.

Since the factory fw 5.9.6.1 has been been successfully tested with OTA updated firmware, that warning can be ignored (on an iPad right now but I'll edit it out when I'm on desktop).

The cautious approach is:
Unregister -> Reset -> Flash Factory Firmware -> ...

That said, I'm guessing this will probably work as well:
(jump straight to) Flash Factory Firmware -> ...

Remember to give it time to sync after removing Special Offers before you unregister if you go with the first option.
