While I sympathize with you,
issybird, at least you CAN get home delivery. I don't have to worry about stuff out in the rain, since the ONLY option that gets home delivery here is FedEx or courier -- and in both cases, it's the same driver.

UPS and Parcel Post both go to the Post Office. (I know, inconceivable in the US, but the rules are different here.) And we have no home delivery, not even a rural mailbox. Our mailbox is at the post office so all packages require us to go in and pick them up. Even Amazon "pickup" packages end up there. Good news is, they stay dry. Bad news is, I get wet picking them up! Ah, well. Gives me a chance to hear the latest local news.
