My usual UPS driver will put packages on a small covered side porch. All their temps and subs leave things by the uncovered front door, even in the rain. No matter that the side porch is actually fewer steps from the driveway. I've started using the Amazon locker delivery instead, since there are now 2 nearby locker locations.
