Thanks to this thread, I cancelled my Prime Alexa order without the smart plug and reordered the Dot 3 with the $5 smart plug this morning. This will be my first Echo device, I've only rarely used Alexa on a tablet so far.
Considering buying an Echo to give as a gift, partly to get another cheap plug. Intended recipient already has a Dot. Crazy idea?
I also picked up a Roku streaming stick ($20 off the regular price) this week to replace a first gen Fire TV stick. Not really picked up though, just ordered, Amazon seems to have misplaced the package, 3 days late so far.
