I went with one of those too, in my case 32GB
without special offers. Did some searching online and saw people saying that the lock screen ads are getting more annoying, with animation and even videos in some cases. No audio yet, but I figure it's only a matter of time if they're pushing it that hard already.
I'm hoping it'll work with a Japanese game I play, as the game runs pretty slowly on my old tablet. Also going to let mom try out her hidden object games on it, so she can decide if it'll be too heavy for her to hold or not.
