The deal is supposed to end in one hour. I haven't shopped Woot! enough recently to know if they might continue that longer or whatever.

Thanks. That is tempting.

I checked ratings on Voyage, and they are outstanding.

"Amazon has now discontinued the Kindle Voyage in favor of the Amazon Kindle Oasis line"--Nov. 7, 2018 report. The Oasis, on one website had only slightly better ratings than Voyage.

Just a very quick (admittedly a little bit off topic) note: don't be hesitant to purchase refurbished items thinking that the internal workings might be bad. Sometimes there is nothing really wrong with the items when people send them back, they just didn't understand how to use them. Feel especially confident when items say something like, "factory refurbished." The units that are refurbished are very often better than the average new unit! Why? Quality control at the factory doesn't test every unit before it goes out the door. They "sample" the units, say one out of every one hundred, and test them. Each unit that gets refurbished, again especially by the factory (and other reputable places), is individually checked, often from top to bottom. Consequently, the failure and Dead-on-Arrival rate of refurbished units are often much lower than brand new ones.

Oh yeah, many of the refurbished units include the same factory warranties as brand new units.

FYI--Amazon has its own department of used, "open box," "factory refurbished," etc. stuff. For some reason, they keep it very, very low key. But if you're into real bargain-hunting, that might be a place to frequent to score some great deals.

Again, a little bit off topic. So, I won't do anything to continue the conversation, at least not on this thread.
